Lufthansa commences A380 flights to Beijing

Lufthansa has commenced Airbus A380 flights between Frankfurt and Beijing.

At first, the A380 will serve Beijing once a week. In coordination with Chinese authorities, Lufthansa aspires to gradually increase the frequency of this service.

The A380, which bears the name Peking, will leave from Frankfurt for the Chinese capital at 17:20 under flight number LH720. After landing in Beijing at 08:30 local time on the Thursday, the return flight (LH 721) will depart Beijing on at 10:30 to arrive at Frankfurt the same day at 14:30.

In Lufthansa configuration, the Airbus A380 can seat up to 526 passengers. The aircraft features eight First Class and 98 Business Class seats on the upper deck as well as 420 seats Economy Class on the core deck.

On 12 September 2010, Lufthansa will start flights to its third A380 destination, Johannesburg. The city will be served two times weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays.

JetBlue launches Nonstop Boston-Phoenix Service Today

JetBlue Airways today started its newest route from Logan International Airport with daily nonstop service to Phoenix. Already carrying the most customers to the most nonstop destinations from Boston, Phoenix is JetBlue's 38th nonstop destination from Logan, and comes in addition to a 30 percent raise in departures this summer.

Because customers shouldn't believe like cattle, JetBlue's new Phoenix route will be operated aboard the spacious Airbus A320 which presents travelers premium amenities like unlimited free snacks and drinks, assigned, all-leather seats with the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline (a), 36 channels of free DIRECTV® programming, more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio (b), and a free first-checked bag (c).

Air India to commence Daily Mumbai-Abu Dhabi Flights

Air India will start daily Mumbai-Abu Dhabi flights from Nov 1, it was declared here Wednesday.

The airline at present operates five weekly flights to Abu Dhabi. This frequency has been improved to daily flights, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) said.

The move is to meet the rising demand in flight services in the sector.

The Mumbai-Abu Dhabi route recorded a 17 percent boost in passenger traffic in the first half of 2010, compared with the matching period last year.

The additional services will increase Air India's total number of flights to Abu Dhabi to 14, connecting the UAE capital with both Mumbai and Delhi.

Air India will operate the high-tech A321 aircraft which will leave from Abu Dhabi at 2.40 a.m., and will arrive in Mumbai at 6.55 a.m. It will present both business and economy class services, ADAC said.
