A crash landing north of A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport late Sunday morning damaged a double engine plane, but left the pilot unhurt. The crash occurred near a dirt hill just off FM 225 and CR 711 in a while before noon.
The pilot, whose identity was not recognized by press time, was flying from Sugar Land to Shreveport, La., when he misplaced fuel pressure and RPMs in both engines. He was attempting to land at the airport but didn't create it, according to the report.
The crash was examined by Department of Public Safety and Federal Aviation Administration officials.
